Does your organization provide direct services to limited English-speaking and Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals? Does your organization receive federal funding, either directly from the federal government or indirectly ? If you answered "Yes" to these question, the chance is your organization must have a language access plan in place that explains how to communicate with individuals who speak a language other than English, and to ensure they have fully access to services, resources, and programs provided by your institution.

 

This training will provide the tools and "how-to's" for developing a comprehensive Language Access plan. As part of this training, you will learn:

  • Definition of a language access plan

  • Legal requirements related language access

  • The four-factor analysis in language access planning

  • Language Assistance Terms

  • Best practices when working with persons with limited English proficiency

  • Best practices for working effectively with bilingual navigators and/or professional interpreters

  • 1 hour follow up consulting on implementing language access planning (post training)

A language access plan worksheet will be included in this workshop.

Training fee: $7,500 per group training session (up to 50 participants)

Training delivery:

On-site at provider’s location, Denver Metro area only, we will apply travel charges per IRS standard mileage for on-site training.
