The official announcement from Colorado Language Connection relating to the pandemic of Coronavirus

Dear CLC Interpreters,

IMPORTANT:

If you are sick or show any symptoms you MUST notify our office so we can cancel your appointments and get it covered

We would like to thank you for your concerns regarding the pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The safety and well-being of our interpreter community is our number one priority, and Colorado Language Connection is being as proactive as possible.

Due to medical appointments, we are following the needs of our customers. If providers have opted for video or phone interpreting we are well equipped to provide such services. As of now, we have not received cancellation from medical offices, only school districts. We are also communicating with our customers to use our Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) service as an alternative to face-to-face meetings so they are aware they do have this option available to them.

Any cancellations will be notified to interpreters when we receive them. Medical facilities must remain opened as patients will still need the care necessary even with the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to continue serving those patients that have a language barrier that need medical services but at the same time being cautious and as safe as possible for our interpreters. Interpreters are more than welcome to cancel their scheduled appointments if they are not comfortable or feel it is unsafe to attend appointments. We believe that medical facilities as well as most offices are taking the necessary precautions of those that enter their buildings and interactions with others.

As this is unknown territory for most the world, we are addressing this the best way possible.

In the meantime, we are offering Zoom practice to our interpreters. Our Video Remote Interpreting does not require complicated setup; all that's needed is a high-speed Internet connection and a computer equipped with a microphone and webcam.

To schedule your Zoom practice please contact Agi at erhaagioseth@apdc.org or call 303-923-6558 Each VRI practice should last no more than 20 minutes.

For CLC Video Remote Interpreting Zoom system requirements please visit our website https://www.coloradolanguageconnection.org/video-remote-interpreting

Thank you,

Colorado Language Connection
